Lab
A medical Lab functions in women and children's hospital, Thycadu, Thiruvananthapuram every day from 8am to 1pm. Ordinary tests of Blood, Urine and Stool are conducted here.
Ultrasound scanning
There are three scanning machines here and functioning every day.Pap Smear Screening
The screening test to diagnose uterus cancer is conducted here in coordination with Regional Cancer Center, Thiruvananthapuram. This facility is available on Monday and Thursday from 8am to 5pm.
'Sneha Kendram'
This center functions to prevent HIV infection of babies from mothers. Counseling and blood tests are conducted here. Special treatment for HIV infected mothers and children is available from Women and children's hospital, Thiruvananthapuram through this center.
Pharmacy
Pharmacy functions under the supervision of store superintendent. The list of medicines available from this pharmacy has been displayed here in front of the pharmacy. Besides the Government supply, the medicines bought by the HDC fund also distributes through this pharmacy.
Blood Bank
A blood bank licensed by India Government has been functioning here round the clock every day. The screening tests against Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV, Malaria, Syphilis, tests for blood group and RH factor are done here.
Collects blood from around 150 persons, in a month, and after conducting the above mentioned tests, collected blood is kept in refrigerator. Later, this blood is distributed to patients according to the need.

C.S.R unit to sterilize cloths and hospital implements functions in the hospital.House Keeping Cell
This cell was formed as per the direction of Kerala Government. It comprises Health Supervisor, Health Inspector and Junior Health Inspectors. In this cell one Junior Health Inspector from the hospital and other three Junior Health Inspectors in working arrangement are working. This cell is responsible for the supervision of complete hospital cleanliness and it functions round the clock. This cell takes decisions for cleaning activities in the hospital , implement them and conducting inspections in the wards and in other places in the hospital according the direction given by the Superintendent. It is under the supervision of this cell that the sterilization of new born nursery, labor room, operation theater etc are done. The maintenance work, water supply, drainage, and pollution control are also under the supervision of this cell.
